B E A T in the community

  • Windfall has been the home of BEAT since its inception and continues to be a wonderful collaborator and supporter of our program. Partnering with organizations that support and house the arts in our community is one of our primary missions.

  • We perform in a variety of local venues throughout the Bloomington community including, Ivy Tech John Waldron Arts Center, Edgewood Middle and High School, Harmony School, Binford Auditorium and the IU Auditorium.

  • Opportunities with the IU Singing Hoosiers under the direction of the late Dr. Steve Zegree grew out of our invitation to perform at the annual Chimes of Christmas. This has established a wonderful relationship between the two ensembles that we hope to continue in the future.

  • Costume Sponsors – We are grateful to have friends and family that want to stay connected and support the arts and our mission. Each member of Syncopation is assigned a costume sponsor for the year and they will write thank you notes and letters throughout their Syncopation journey. It is an aspect we plan to continue for the future as it allows us to not only provide cool costumes, but give the kids a sense that someone is investing in them that hasn’t even met them. Some kids have even gotten to meet their costume sponsors! It is a cool experience!

  • BEAT puts on two showcases; one in the fall and one in the spring. This allows local supporters and families to see the hard work the kids put in close to home. We have had the opportunity to perform in a myriad of venues for these shows and appreciate all of our chances to perform in and for the community!

  • Showchoir Camps of America summer camp – We have been able to send numerous Syncopation members to this life changing performing arts camp the past 2 summers. Scholarship opportunities are available by essay, performance and leadership. Please visit www.showchoircamps.com for more information about the camp.
