B E A T in the community

  • Windfall has been the home of BEAT since its inception and continues to be a wonderful collaborator and supporter of our program. Fairview Elementary has become our second home this year, which has been a beautiful new addition to our weekly rehearsals. Partnering with organizations that support and house the arts in our community is one of our primary missions.

  • We have performed in a variety of local venues throughout the Bloomington community including the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, Fairview Elementary School,  Ivy Tech John Waldron Arts Center, and the IU Auditorium.

  • Costume Sponsors – We are grateful to have friends and family that want to stay connected and support the arts and our mission. Each member of Syncopation, Revelation and Amplitude are assigned a sponsor for the year and they write thank you notes and letters throughout their BEAT show choir journey. It is an aspect we plan to continue for the future as it allows us to not only provide cool costumes, but give the kids a sense that someone is investing in them that hasn’t even met them. Some kids have even gotten to meet their costume sponsors! It is a cool experience!

  • BEAT puts on two showcases; one in the fall and one in the spring, and a HolidayFEST. This allows local supporters and families to see the hard work the kids put in close to home. We have the opportunity to perform in a myriad of venues of these shows and appreciate all of our chances to perform in and for the community!

  • Showchoir Camps of America summer camp – We have been able to send numerous BEAT members to this life-changing performing arts camp for the past 5 summers. Scholarship opportunities are available through BEAT each year by essay, performance, and leadership. Please visit www.showchoircamps.com for more information about the camp.
